Tan without lines: what really works (and what's useless)
Tan lines are the small detail that can ruin your backless evening dress. Here's what really works for an even tan — and the fake good ideas to avoid.
What works
The bandeau top. This is the obvious solution: no straps, no marks on the shoulders. The PYLA bandeau stays up without straps thanks to its fitted construction — and it's 40% off during the sales (€35.97 instead of €59.95).
Alternate cuts. One day triangle, one day bandeau: tan lines don't have time to set in. That's the advantage of having two different tops… or just one FERRET with repositionable triangles and removable cups, which can be worn in several ways.
Lower your straps when lying on your stomach — basic, but only when lying on your stomach: never when standing or swimming.
Reversible rotation. No direct effect on tanning, but a real plus: one swimsuit, two colors — your tan progresses, your look changes.
What's useless (or worse)
Tanning without protection "to go faster." False: excessive UV thickens the skin and the tan doesn't last as long. SPF 30 minimum, SPF 50 for the first few days — the tan will be slower but more durable and, most importantly, less dangerous.
Oil without filter at noon. No. Just no.
"Discreet topless" with only sunscreen: the skin on the chest is thin and burns quickly.
The Pinua protocol
Morning: ARCA bralette for paddleboarding. Afternoon: PYLA bandeau for sunbathing, SPF, water, shade between 12 pm and 3 pm. Evening: impeccable backless dress.
